Employee Orientation for Using Digital Payment Platform

Majority of our client is from Rural part of India and paying via CASH is the preferred mode of transaction but Cash Payment has drawbacks too:-

  • Time taking,
  • High risk
  • Security concern.

To eliminate Cash in Transit Saija introduces a digital payment platform. We did a brief study of the available mode of Cashless transaction and we come up with 3 different solutions to overcome the problem:-

  • UPI:- Direct payment through Mobile
  • Cash drop Solution ( CSP):- Payment in the nearby Bank
  • Nach Mandate:- Money deduction directly from the client’s account on an agreed date.

Our service provider for UPI and CSP is Fing Pay, Airtel Payment Bank, Fino payment Bank and PAY U and for Nach Mandate Kaleidofin.

To enable these services quickly at all branches of Saija the “Training and IT” department jointly started a training program for it Branch employees. This training helped our field employees to gain advantages over Cash payment & Time Management.

The impact of this training is that now 95.76% of our payment is done via CSP and 0.41% of payment is done by UPI weekly.

We at Saija believe that a cashless collection system can eliminate barriers amongst the clients thereby bringing about greater transparency and with this, we are now heading towards enabling our Clients to pay via UPI. Our study shows that 1 member among the 5 members group are using Smartphone and small effort from their side can help them to get rid of cash problem.

Soft Skills Training at SAIJA

To further enhance the soft skills of Line Managers, the Training Team organized an in a house training program for Branch Managers in Jharkhand and Bihar respectively which covered sessions on Time Management, Delegation, and Communication. The sessions were very interactive and well-received.

Workshop on Regulatory Compliance

Ms Anuradha Rawat , CS, and Ms Kapila Mehra, Assistant Manager Resource attended a two-day workshop on Regulatory Compliance in Lucknow on 22nd and 23rd Sep’17 organized by Microfinance Association in Uttar Pradesh. The workshop discussed the Industry view and Regulators perception on the compliance. The panel also discussed the common error in adherence to compliance. The sessions were informative and of great relevance to the participants.

Sa-Dhan National Conference

Mr Tofique Alam , Senior Manager  ,Commercial and Mr Ketan Sharma, Assistant Manager Risk & Audit attended Sa-Dhan National Conference on 14th & 15th Oct’17  at New Delhi. The theme of this year conference was “Reinventing Inclusive Finance in the Digital Era”.

Exposure Visit to Kenya

Mr. S R Sinha, CMD, Ms. Rashmi Sinha, Whole Time Director and Mr. G R K Sarma, VP Commercial were invited by Greenlight Planet for an exposure visit to Kenya where lot of work is happening in the area of clean energy access and propagation. The SAIJA team also shared their successful experience in the field of clean energy and how it has been well integrated in their Microfinance program thereby helping millions in the process.

SAIJA Sales Cum Training Program

We have organized SAIJA, sales cum training program for the front line managers on 10th and 11th April’17 at Patna. It was a two days workshop designed to improve customer service, loyalty and overall productivity of the staff. It was conducted by a well-known trainer  Mr. Faisal Wahedi from Grameen Foundation. The session was very interactive and covered topics like effective sales techniques, building credibility and trust amongst the customers. The program was attended by Branch Mangers, Unit Managers, Regional and Territory Managers.

Boulders Microfinance Training Program

At SAIJA we believe that skill and trained manpower are vital for the growth of an organization as a whole. We laid great stress on capacity building and consider its people as one of its assets. Over the years we have evolved work environment where one is encouraged to learn and grow, it lays emphasis on the acquiring of new skills. We have sent two of our best employees Ms. Nishi Sinha, Senior Manager HR and Mr. Ankit Kumar Gautam, Regional Manager Uttar Pradesh to attend Boulders Microfinance Training Program in July 2016 at Italy, Turin. It was a 21-day training program that covered diverse aspects of the Microfinance Industry.

Training on Ethics & Integrity at Workshop

SAIJA in collaboration with Benchmarked Solution conducted a two-day training session on “Ethics & Integrity at Workplace” on 15th & 16th July’16. We have covered 31 participants which included BMs on the first day and FEs and UMs on the second day

Training on Customer Service

Today we are growing at a fast phase and at this juncture, ensuring customer service is high on priority. We have realized that they are one of the most important stakeholders of the organization. While keeping this in view we have organized a training session on Customer Service on 13th & 14th June at Patna. For the same, we have invited Mr. Faisal Wahedi from Grameen Foundation to conduct the session. The training covered end to end discussion on customer service. The session was quite interactive and sharing of hands of experience with participants added glory to the session.

Workshop on Poverty Measurement Program

Mr Soubhagya Ranjan, Manager Strategy attended second phase of training on Poverty Measurement in Lucknow on 15th Dec’15, conducted by Grameen Foundation, sponsored by DFID & SIDBI. The second phase focused on “Management of Poverty data and its application” based on the PPI tool

Training on Leaders For The Field Program

“Leaders for the Field Program” under the aegis of SIDBI and Grameen Foundation was organized on 8th & 9th October ’15 and 7th & 8th December’15 in Patna. The program was attended by Mr. Ankit Kumar Gautam (Regional Manager), Mr. Ranjeet Kumar (Regional Manager) Mr. Dhiraj Gopal (Head Internal Audit) and Mr. Shubham Vineet (Head Operations). It was a part of the three months extended program where our leaders were exposed to classroom training followed by webinar and online learning.

Workshop on Financial Inclusion

Ms Nishi Sinha, Senior Manager HR & Ms Zareen, Manager, Training attended National Financial Inclusion Conference on 8 & 9 October 2015, at Hotel Ashok in New Delhi. The theme of the Conference was “Reaching the Unbanked through the Digital Revolution”. Ms Rashmi Sinha, Whole-Time Director shared her views as a panelist on the session on “Clean Energy Access” held on 9th October’15. The discussion was chiefly on challenges and recommendations related to tapping the potential of MFI to enhance access to finance for clean energy technologies.

Communication for Success

A two-day workshop on “Communication for Success” was held on 13th & 14th July’15 which was taken by renowned trainer & and life coach, Mr Faisal Wahedi of Grameen Foundation. The Workshop was attended by HODs, Regional Managers, Unit Managers and Branch Managers. The sessions were interactive and very useful more so as it was based on real life cases from microfinance industry.

“Skill Development Program” at RUDSETI Hajipur

 

 

The training was imparted on diverse modules related to Soft Skills, Behavioral Skills, MFI Specific Modules etc. SAIJA also partnered in the training program and sector specific related to the trainees work profile was imparted by the Training Team.
The event marked the successful completion of the training program by 23 trainees, who were awarded certificate by “RUDSETI” and appointment letters from “SAIJA Finance” for various profiles like Field Executive, Solar Executive and Branch office Executive.
The batch commenced on 4th July, 2015 at “Rudseti-Hajipur”.

Leadership Program for Mid Level Managers

 

 

Mr. Ranjeet, Unit Manager, Mr. Dhiraj Gopal Head (Internal Audit) and Mr. Soubhagya Ranjan, Assistant Manager, Operations attended the “Leadership Skills for Microfinance Mid-level Managers” (LMM), a five days hands-on Program organized by ACCION in Delhi which prepares the participants to manage and lead teams efficiently and effectively.

Risk Management Training

 

As a part of PSIG, SIDBI support, we had invited M2i to conduct Operational & Credit Risk Management Training for Internal Audit team from 2nd to 4th Feb’15. The session was conducted by Mr. Rahul Bist, with 13 years of experience in Microfinance, Micro enterprise and Grass Root development. The session was very effective as the pedagogy used were real life cases from Microfinance Industry.
